'All-Clear' After Swatting Call At Glenbrook North High: School
The school was under a suspended schedule following the Monday incident and officials were asking people not to come to the campus.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Glenbrook North is "all-clear" Monday afternoon following a "swatting call" that brought Northbrook police to the campus. Police identified the false call, which appeared to be from a local address, but is not. There is currently no known risk to the public.
The call was received by the Northbrook Police Department Monday, who also received a similar message unrelated to the school district over the weekend, according to Glenbrook High School District 225.
Shortly after 11 a.m. the suspended schedule was put in place due to a “swatting call” received at the Northbrook Police Department. A swatting call is a false call that appears to be from a local address but in fact is not. The Northbrook Police Department received a similar message, unrelated to the school district, over the weekend. Public safety gave the all clear at 11:45 a.m. and the suspended schedule was lifted. Public safety remains on the scene as they address the incident.

The incident comes just days after a fire occurred at neighboring Glenbrook South. Classes resumed there Monday after being canceled on Friday following a Thursday fire. The fire started in the school's wood shop.
In March, Northbrook police responded to a swatting call at Northbrook Court in which a call indicated there were explosives at the mall. In that incident, it was determined after several hours that there was no threat at the mall.
"We understand that this can be a challenging experience for our students. In an effort to assist students in processing this event, we encourage them to utilize District 225 resources," the district said in the message.
The district said students who are struggling should be encouraged to go to student services or call the office at 847-272-6400. The staff has also been alerted to be mindful of students in their classes who may be experiencing concerns.
