NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and a list of those arrested. Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced and represent merely accusations by the state. An arrest is not an indicator of guilt, and all persons named are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

A woman stole a tent from the REI in the 800 block of Willow Road around 5:22 p.m. on Oct. 22.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On Oct. 22, a resident of the 1700 block of Fieldwood Drive reported finding a hole in the exterior glass of a double pane window, but it was unknown when the damage occurred.

IDENTITY THEFT

On the morning of Oct. 25, a resident in the 1600 block of Brighton Court reported that someone fraudulently used their name and social security number to open up a cell phone account with Sprint.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 38-year-old Bolingbrook woman was arrested Oct. 20 at 12:29 a.m. near the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Pointe Drive after she was pulled over for driving with an "excessively loud muffler" and found to have a suspended driver's license.

Victor H. Barron, 38, of the 5100 block of Wolf Drive in Oak Lawn, was arrested on Oct. 20 at 11:13 p.m. near the intersection of Dundee and Meadow roads and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, among other citations. Police said they saw his vehicle commit several traffic offenses, pulled him over and determined he was intoxicated. He was also issued citations for improper turn, improper lane usage, failure to signal, driving an uninsured vehicle and unlawful transportation of alcohol.

A 27-year-old Streamwood man was arrested Oct. 21 at 11:08 p.m. in the 2400 block of Cherry Lane after he needed assistance from officers and was found to be driving on a suspended license.

A 25-year-old Northbrook man was arrested Oct. 25 at 9:05 p.m. near the intersection of Dundee and Sanders road after he was pulled over by an officer on routine patrol. The officer determined he was driving with a suspended license, and he was also issued a citation for driving without insurance.
