Tip Leads Cops To DUI Driver, Warrant Found For Motorist After Crash: Northbrook Crime Reports

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and a list of those arrested. Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced and represent merely accusations by the state. An arrest is not an indicator of guilt, and all persons named are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On Sept. 15 at 5:25 p.m., a patron at a local gas station reported that someone scratched his vehicle with a key while it was parked in a lot in the 1800 block of Shermer Road.
THEFT

On Sept. 16 at 9:30 a.m., a patron in the 300 block of Revere Drive reported that when he returned to his locker following a swim class he found his wallet on the floor with $100 in cash missing.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On Sept. 18 at 12:10 a.m., a resident of the 200 block Old Post Road reported that a family member had checked the person's residence and discovered the rear sliding door was unlocked. The house was secured, but when the resident returned home they discovered that cash and some other items were missing.
BURGLARY
Someone entered a residence in the 4000 block of Sunset Lane while it was under construction and stole copper plumbing fittings between 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 19 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 20.
CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1500 block of Arbor Lane reported that someone entered a vehicle and stole an iPhone between midnight and 7 a.m. on Sept. 21.
CAR BURGLARY
On Sept. 21 at 9:20 a.m., a resident in the 4100 block of Picardy Drive reported that someone entered a locked vehicle and stole a bottle of glass lens cleaner.
CAR BURGLARY
On Sept. 21 at 12:45 p.m., a resident in the 2600 block of Crabtree Lane reported that someone entered their vehicle and stole an iPhone and a jacket during the previous overnight hours.
ARRESTS
WARRANT
Darryl E. Daugherty, 31, of the 4900 block of West Melrose Street in Chicago, was arrested Sept. 15 at 3:07 p.m. in the 1500 block of Skokie Boulevard on a warrant issued by the Cook County Sheriff's Police. After he was involved in a traffic crash, he was found to have an active warrant related to a charge of theft, police said.
RETAIL THEFT
David Randall, 49, of the 500 block of West 14th Place in Chicago, was arrested on Sept. 15 at 1:41 p.m. at the Best Buy in the 1000 block of Willow Road and charged with retail theft after police were told he was seen hiding merchandise inside his jacket and pants before walking out of a store.
DUI
Hector Bahena, 31, of the 500 block of Isa Drive in Wheeling, was arrested Sept. 17 at 10:43 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence near East Dundee and Portwine roads. Police said they received information from dispatch about a possibly impaired driver in the area. They found Bahena's vehicle, pulled him over for a traffic violation and determined he was driving under the influence. He was also issued citations for driving an uninsured vehicle and improper lane usage.
RETAIL THEFT
Patrycja Palmer, 28, of the 1100 block of Oak Tree Train in Lake Villa, was arrested Sept. 19 at 8:10 p.m. at the Whole Foods in the 800 block of Willow Road. Police were told she was seen putting items in her purse and then walking out of the store without paying for the items.
