Westmoor Teacher Wins National Award

Sarah Wippman is one of three elementary teachers to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching this year.

NORTHBROOK, IL - A Westmoor Elementary School teacher has been awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, according to a news release from District 28.

Sarah Wippman has more than 30 years of teaching experience who has received Senatorial commendations for her participation in the Stock Market Game and Investwrite. She is one of three elementary math teachers recognized in Illinois this year and is a nominee to be recognized by the President in July.

"Each and every day I look forward to working with my amazing students,” she said.

Wippman is responsible for forming the school's Coding Club, a lunchtime activity in which more than 80 students participate throughout the year.
