Williamsburg Square Park Project Open House Planned In Northbrook

The Northbrook Park District is seeking community feedback on potential improvements to the park, located at 200 Lee Road.

Northbrook Park District is currently planning improvements to Williamsburg Square Park located at 200 Lee Road, Northbrook. We are reaching out to ask you to provide input for your neighborhood park.

On August 24, the Board of Park Commissioners approved a resolution to support application for an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). Following the grant submission in September 2022, IDNR will review applications to fund projects in 2023. If approved, the District could be awarded up to $600,000 for improvements to this park and would have 24 months to complete the project.

A Community Open House for Williamsburg Square Park, facilitated by Hitchcock Design Group, will be held on Wednesday, September 7 from 6pm-7pm in the Prairie Room at Techny Prairie Activity Center located in Techny Prairie Park and Fields at 180 Anets Drive, Northbrook.

Community members are invited to attend the Open House to discuss the project with staff members and project consultants, view current design plans, review survey results from the spring and provide your feedback for this park. If you are unable to attend the Open House, comments can also be submitted by email.

In May, we reached out to neighbors for your input on park amenities including the playground. Based on your survey responses, the two playground designs shown on the back of this letter have been approved by the Board of Park Commissioners for voting by the community. Complete the survey below or vote in person at the Community Open House to pick your playground.
