Woman Caught Stealing Hair Products: Northbrook Police Blotter

The woman loaded up a shopping cart, left the store and was caught trying to flee in a car, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Bradford C. Johnson, of Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, failure to use turn signal, illegal stopping/standing/parking, improper lane usage, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 4:01 p.m. Dec. 28, at Lake Cook Road and Revere Drive. A court date of Feb. 7, 2023, was assigned.

Police and fire department personnel responded to a home at 1:04 a.m. Dec. 23, for a person that had stopped breathing in the 300 block of Forestway Drive. The resident passed away of natural causes. The funeral home responded to assist the family with the decedent.

RETAIL THEFT

The management of a store in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 2:33 p.m. Dec. 23, a woman loaded a shopping cart with various hair products and walked out of the store without paying. The woman and the other female occupants of the car were confronted about the theft in the parking lot while loading their car. The subjects left the remaining stolen goods in the cart and fled.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

An officer on a routine patrol at 8:22 a.m. Dec. 27, saw a work van with its muffler hanging toward the ground in the 300 block of Melvin Drive. The officer checked the vehicle — a 2002 white Ford E-350 — and noticed the catalytic converter had been stolen. The officer contacted the owner and advised him of the crime.

BURGLARY TO AUTO

A citizen reported at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 28, someone entered his 2019 Mercedes C300 and stole clothing, shoes and jewelry in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A citizen called police at 12:34 p.m. Dec. 28, to report someone cut the Comcast cable leading into his office building in the 400 block of Huehl Road.
