Kids Robbed, Assaulted On Their Way To School On North Side

Two suspects either beat or choked victims in North Center, Lake View and Ravenswood, police warned.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert warning of violent North Side robberies. Three people were robbed while they were walking alone in the Lake View, North Center and Ravenswood neighborhoods, police said. Two of the victims were kids on their way to school, according to police.

The suspects either beat or choked the victims before taking their property, police said.

The robberies happened in the following locations:

• 3800 Block of N. Ashland Ave. on May 22 at around 7:30 a.m.
• 800 Block of W. Irving Park Rd. on May 22 between 9 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
• 2400 Block of W. Montrose Ave., on May 29 between 6 a.m. - 6:30 a.m.

Description of the two suspects is vague. Both robbers were described as black, between 17 and 20 years old and about 6 feet tall, police said. One suspect is described as 160 pounds and the other 210 pounds.
