Missing Boy, 12, With Seizure Disorder Reunited With Family

UPDATED: The Portage Park boy posted online that he was feeling depressed and left home without his medication.

CHICAGO, IL — Police are searching for a missing 12-year-old boy from the Portage Park neighborhood who has a seizure disorder and is without his medication, EpiPen, medical ID bracelet and cell phone.

Kenneth Maya, who lives in the area around Long and Warwick avenues, was last seen at about 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, according to police. His parents said Kenneth recently posted on a social media site, writing that he has been depressed and using the word "death" in it.

Kenneth is Hispanic and described as 5 feet 5 inches, 130 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a light olive complexion. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray jeans and black-and-white gym shoes. He also was in the company of an unknown 12- to 14-year-old Hispanic boy.

Anyone with information about Kenneth should contact the Chicago Police Department's Missing Persons unite at 312-747-5784 or Area North Detectives at 312-744-8200.

UPDATED (12:34 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23): Kenneth was located Saturday night and reunited with his family, according to police.
