Navigating Healthcare Decisions: Determining What's Right For You

With National Healthcare Decisions Day quickly approaching on April 16, you might be wondering, What’s all the fuss about advance directives? Healthcare decision making, for oneself or a loved one, is often complex and fraught with uncertainty. One could only imagine how much more complex end-of-life healthcare decision making can be.  Advance directives allow for a plan to be put in place so that these stressful decisions do not fall on your family members during an already challenging time.

Chicagoland Methodist Senior Services (CMSS) wants to help you dive into the importance of this subject and what it’s all about. Come out and join us for a discussion of real-world examples and tips to help you navigate these issues from an emotional perspective to a legal perspective.  During the discussion, you will learn:

  • Real-life decisions: Two clients with similar medical problems but very different life circumstances lead to very different decisions

  • Who are/who should be the decision makers?
