Roscoe Village Winterfest Begins With Tree Lighting, Caroling

Roscoe Village residents are encouraged to come out and celebrate this weekend with a tree lighting, carolers and trolley rides.

CHICAGO, IL — Kick off the holiday season with a neighborhood gathering at the Roscoe Village Winterfest 2017. The event will feature the neighborhood's annual tree lighting ceremony, children's activities, choirs, a trolley, and of course Santa. Winterfest will be held Saturday and Sunday.

Roscoe Village's tree lighting ceremony will begin Saturday at 5 p.m. at John's Place at 2132 W. Roscoe St. The event also features caroling with the Loyola Silhouettes and the Sweet Adelines.

After the tree lighting, attendees are encouraged to do some festive shopping in neighborhood stores for the Saturday Night Stroll. Shoppers can also enjoy food and beverages at local cafes.

Then on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., people of all ages are invited to come out and enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh, carolers, trolley rides, and of course the jolly man himself.
