A duffel bag full of kittens that were found dumped in the parking lot of PAWS Chicago are going to be okay despite the weekend’s stifling heat.

A volunteer noticed the bag moving on Sunday afternoon at PAWS Chicago’s Lincoln Park adoption center at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave. Thirteen kittens were trapped inside, according to the animal shelter’s Facebook page.

PAWS Chicago says the “lucky thirteen” all appear to be generally healthy and looking for foster homes. The kittens are currently being cared for at animal shelter’s rescue and recovery center.

The North Side animal shelter is looking for volunteers who can foster two to four kittens together for two weeks. Interested foster parents can fill out PAWS Chicago’s foster survey to get started.
