Recall Issued For Solar Eclipse Glasses Bought At Oak Brook Library
Solar eclipse glasses sold at the Oak Brook Library August 11 and 12 may not meet required safety standards. A recall has been issued.

OAK BROOK, IL — Less than a week before this year's historic solar eclipse, a recall has been issued for eclipse viewing glasses that were sold at the Oak Brook Public Library. According to the Village of Oak Brook website, these solar eclipse glasses may not meet the required international safety standards
The recalled glasses were sold on August 11 or 12 at the library, which had bought the lot of glasses from Amazon. Amazon.com is unable to verify that these glasses effectively block solar UV radiation and "reduce visible sunlight to a safe and comfortable level," the library's statement said.
If you purchased these recalled solar eclipse glasses, take them to the library for a refund. Glasses purchased at the Oak Brook Library before August 11 are not recalled because these were purchased directly from the verified manufacturer. For more information, view the library's official statement on the recalled eclipse viewing glasses.
