Dr. Annelise K. Madsen, curator at the Art Institute of Chicago, discusses the current exhibit Mary Cassatt: After Impressionism. Cassatt was a key avant garde figure and the only American artist to exhibit with the French Impressionists. She was commissioned to create a mural (triptych), Modern Woman, for the Woman's Building at the World Columbian Exhibition.
Annelise K. Madsen is the Gilda and Henry Buchbinder Curator, Arts of the Americas, at the Art Institute of Chicago.
