2 Charged Following ATF Raid At Home Near Oak Forest School

Two men face charges following a drug investigation by ATF and Oak Forest police, and one was wanted on an Indiana warrant for murder.

OAK FOREST, IL — Two Oak Forest men face charges following arrests by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. ATF agents raided a home near Fierke Educational Center Dec. 9, leading to the arrests of Darrin Johnson, 30, of the 15400 block of Hickory Lane, and Cordero Miller, 30, of the same address.

ATF agents then collaborated with Oak Forest Police, who charged Johnson with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a school zone, and being an armed habitual criminal, according to Oak Forest Police Chief Jason Reid. The home is within 500 feet of the Fierke Educational Center, 6535 West Victoria Dr.

During a search of the residence, police found a loaded 9 mm handgun. Cordero was arrested on an outstanding warrant for murder from Lake County, Indiana.
