Action Sertoma was chartered on November 11, 1967 as a club to raise funds in support of "service to mankind". In 1971, Action Sertoma (originally chartered as Alsip Sertoma) was instrumental along with the Evergreen and POW-R Sertoma Clubs in establishing the Sertoma Centre. The Sertoma Centre currently has two locations in Alsip, Illinois, and nine residential homes throughout the south and southwest suburbs. Sertoma Centre is a nationally accredited, not-for-profit agency that provides services to more than 650 individuals with developmental, physical and emotional disabilities, and/or mental illness.
In addition to supporting the Sertoma Centre, we also support the Sertoma Speech and Hearing Center, as well as local charitable organizations that provide important social services such as Crisis Center for South Suburbia, Together We Cope, St. Coletta's of Illinois Foundation, and other individuals in need.
