• Caller Claimed To Have Gun, Homemade Bomb Inside Oak Forest HS, Threatened To Shoot Up School: Police (patch.com) — Parents and residents in Oak Forest learned that a terrifying threat at Oak Forest High School was actually a swatting call, after a man falsely claimed to have guns and a homemade bomb in a school bathroom. Police locked down and partially evacuated the building, thoroughly searched the campus, and later confirmed there was no real danger, with the investigation now handed to the FBI.
   

• $500K In Lifted Copper Wire, Trailer Stolen From Oak Forest Discovered Hundreds Of Miles Away: Sheriff (patch.com) — Police say a trailer stolen from Oak Forest was used to haul about $500,000 in copper wire taken from a DeKalb business, before being tracked across Kentucky and Ohio. Investigators from multiple states helped recover the wire and trailer, and three people were taken into custody as the Cook County Sheriff's Office continues its investigation.
