Boost Your Biz! A three-part business education series coming to Oak Forest.

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–The Business & Career Institute (BCI) of South Suburban College presents a three-part series of workshops entitled Boost Your Biz! on Thursday, October 24, Thursday, November 7, and Thursday, November 21 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Do you have a great idea for a small business but aren’t sure where to start? Or perhaps you are in business but need ideas to increase your sales? Does social media marketing make you squirm? Our local expert, Tom Byelick, has the tools and ideas to help business find success! This three-part education series is designed with the entrepreneur and small business owner in mind.

Tom Byelick is an expert in sales and business development and has over three decades of experience in the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds. His background in the education and pharmaceutical/health care industries consists of roles in sales leadership and training. Byelick is co-founder of Yes, & Then… Training and Consulting. He is also an instructor at the College of Business at Purdue University

The workshop schedule is as follows:

Day 1–October 24, Basics of Launching a Business

  • Setting a tone for effective communication
  • Conceptualizing a business idea
  • Formulating an overall strategy
  • Developing a marketing strategy
  • Navigating social media, video and podcast productions
  • Creating an email campaign
  • Establishing a target audience
  • Selling techniques
  • Building a team, coaching team members and hiring staff

Day 2–November 7, How to Market Your Business

Day 3–Thursday, November 21, Developing Your Sales Strategy

The workshops will be held at the college’s Oak Forest Center located at 16333 S. Kilbourn Ave., Oak Forest, IL. The cost of the workshops is $49 per person or $139 for all three. Refreshments will be served. To register, please call (708) 225-6055 or email bci@ssc.edu.
