Bremen HS Students Attend Annual World of Wheels Show
Dennis McFarlane allowed BHS students a close up look at his 1949 International pickup that he restored and customized himself

Students from Bremen High School’s Manufacturing and Applied Engineering classes had the opportunity to participate in the 2018 World of Wheels Career Day in Rosemont. Students gathered ideas for future plans in an educational presentation featuring college, career, and scholarship opportunities. One BHS student won a 200 piece professional tool kit from a show sponsor. After the session, the show floor opened for a special student-only viewing. One of the automobile restoration men held BHS near and dear to his heart; Retired Dean of Students from Hillcrest High School, Mr. Dennis McFarlane, allowed BHS students a close up look at his 1949 International pickup that he restored and customized himself. Furthermore, Freshman Matt Chmura was able to show off a car which is part of his professional drag racing team. “We had a much richer experience having personal contact with exhibitors!” said Bremen High School IT teacher and sponsor Dr. Tim Schneiderwind.
