Chicago Man, 42, ID'd As Driver Fatally Shot In Harvey: Medical Examiner
The incident happened in the early morning hours Friday. The man crashed into two homes after being shot while inside his car, police said.
HARVEY, IL — A driver who crashed into two homes after being shot while inside his car early Friday in Harvey has been indentified as a 42-year-old Chicago man, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said Monday.
Just after 3 a.m. Friday, police were called to a reported shooting in the area of 185 Calumet Boulevard.
The victim, a 42-year-old male now identified as Marcus Merrill, was reportedly shot in the chest while inside his vehicle, Harvey police said.

After being shot, Merill crashed his vehicle into two homes, at 14416 and 14420 Center Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Merrill died of mutliple gunshot wounds, according to Cook County Medical Examiner records. His death was ruled a homicide, and an investigation is underway, police said Friday.
