Next Court Date For Oak Forest Murder Suspect Delayed: City
Originally set for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, the hearing has been rescheduled, City officials said.

OAK FOREST, IL — The next court appearance for a Dolton man charged with first-degree murder in the death of an Oak Forest man has been pushed back, City officials said Tuesday.
Steven J. Knox, 19, on Monday was indicted on eight counts of first-degree murder in the death of 68-year-old Oak Forest resident Michael Arnold. Knox was originally scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on Wednesday. Knox is now due for arraignment on March 10 at the Bridgeview Courthouse, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office told Patch.
Knox remains in custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections, in connection with a possession of a stolen motor vehicle charge.

On Jan. 23, personnel from the Oak Forest police and fire departments were dispatched to a home in the 15000 block of Sunset Avenue, responding to a report of an unresponsive individual. First responders found Arnold and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Arnold died of multiple gunshot wounds, and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death a homicide.

Police announced the arrest of Knox on Monday. Additional details surrounding the shooting or arrest have not been disclosed.
