Helicopter Used To Help Catch Carjacking Suspects In Midlothian

Police followed a car reported stolen through several streets in Midlothian before the suspects fled on foot near 148th and Kenneth.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL — Three carjacking suspects were caught in Midlothian early Friday morning, police said. The trio was found in a stolen car that was jacked in Chicago, Midlothian police said in a Facebook post.

Police in Midlothian were helping Crestwood police who were already on the case around 1 a.m. when the car came into Midlothian, the social media post said.

According to police, officers followed the car "through several side streets" in Midlothian before the car stopped in the area of 148th and Kenneth.

That's when the three fled on foot. They were all eventually captured with the help of a police helicopter and more officers on the ground, according to the report.

Charging information on the three suspects was not immediately available.
