State House District 28 Primary: Bob Rita Wins In Landslide

Robert "Bob" Rita easily defeated challengers Mary Carvlin and Kimberly Nicole Koschinitzky in the 28th District Democratic primary.

ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE 28TH DISTRICT - Incumbent Illinois State House 28th District representative Robert "Bob" Rita has secured the Democratic nomination in hopes of winning re-election come November. Rita defeated challengers Mary Carvlin and Kimberly Nicole Koschinitzky in Tuesday night's election. Rita earned about 75 percent of the vote in the city of Chicago and about 66 percent of the vote in suburban Cook County.

Rita has been in this office since 2003, when he succeeded current Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart. Carvlin has a campaign website, while Koschinitzky has been interviewed by the Chicago Sun-Times editorial board.

No Republican candidates have filed in this election.

The Illinois House of Representatives 28th District includes portions of the South Side of Chicago and parts of nearby south suburbs such as Blue Island, Calumet Park, Robbins, Midlothian, Oak Forest, Tinley Park and Orland Hills.

Mary Carvlin: 19.22%

Kimberly Nicole Koschinitzky: 15.17%

Robert "Bob" Rita: 65.62%

CITY OF CHICAGO:

Mary Carvlin: 15.62%

Kimberly Nicole Koschinitzky: 9.43%

Robert "Bob" Rita: 74.94%
