Kirby District 140 Selects Next Superintendent
Current superintendent will retire in June 2016.

The KSD 140 School Board announced Thursday evening that they have selected Julia L. Mikulich as the next Superintendent of Schools. The Board, assisted by the executive search firm of BWP & Associates, conducted an extensive search and interview process of several well-qualified candidates. The decision to hire Mikulich was unanimous.
“We’re excited to turn the reins over to Ms. Mikulich,” stated Thomas Martelli, President of the Board of Education. “Her administrative experience and success, along with her vision for the District, matches up perfectly with our needs.”

Mikulich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in Education, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, and a Certificate of Advance Study (Superintendent Endorsement). She has worked in District 140 for the past 25 years. Currently the Assistant Superintendent, Mikulich has held various positions during her tenure, including Director of Curriculum, Principal, Assistant Principal, and Teacher.
Mikulich will succeed Superintendent Michael J. Byrne after his retirement in June 2016.
