Tinley Park High School Hosts 27th Annual Fishing and Outdoor Show

Tinley Park High School will host its 27th Annual Fishing and Outdoor Show on February 8th and 9th this year (9am-5pm). 26 years ago, the Tinley Park High School Football Booster Club had an idea to host the Outdoor Show.

Rich Komar, the manager of the show for the past 26 years, credits success of the show to Tinley Park High School administration, great exhibitors, and the community. He says, “It starts with an administration who believes in what you are doing for the school, great exhibitors, and most importantly great outdoor enthusiasts attending every year.”

The show is affordable at an admission price of $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, and $5.00 for children ages seven to thirteen. Children under the age of six are free.

Held at Tinley Park High School yearly, the show offers over 180,000 square exhibitor space and plenty of free parking.

This year, part of the show will be moving into the newly built state of the art fieldhouse. As always, there will be fishing seminars and demonstrations which range from seminars on catfish, bass, and musky. There will also be various reptiles for close up viewing, as well as an auction. Guests will be able to bid on trips donated by vendors as well as rods, reels, depth finders, and many other items all weekend long.

The Tinley Park Athletic Booster Club continues to run this event with the proceeds supporting student-athletes of Tinley Park High School.

Sponsors of the show include Basa’s Marine, Berg Group, Bettenhausen Motor, St. Croix Rods, Chauncey’s Great Outdoors, and Lowrance Electronics.

“The hard work and dedication from the parents and students is what really brings the show together,” says Komar. “The work ethic and commitment is what brings the exhibitors and supporters back year after year.”

Tinley Park High School is located at 6111 W. 175th street, just east of Ridgeland. Visit the Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoors Show website at www.tinleyparkfishingshow.com for additional information.
