Lutheran Church of the Resurrection Servant Camp 2016

Do you have a high school aged son or daughter who needs service hours? Do you want them to learn how to build things and repair things?

The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is hosting our annual Servant Camp from August 1-5 where we will train and give them up to 40 hours of community service.

Servant Camp begins on Monday August 1st and ends on Friday August 5th. Monday is set aside for training and team building. Work days begin on Tuesday and end Friday.

Each day begins at 8:00am with all youth meeting at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection for breakfast, simple worship and prayers, and to get their work assignments for the day.

Projects are limited to outdoor/exterior work only. Adults will supervise and be responsible for using any power tools needed to complete the work.
After each day of work, the youth and team leaders will return to the church for dinner and topic of the evening. The day will end at 5pm.

Youth are taught construction and landscaping skills (e.g. measuring, hammering, post hole digging, painting, minor concrete work, gardening work, repair of screens, etc.). After day one – youth are put on teams to use their new skills at a senior’s home.
