Oak Forest High School Soccer's Do Good December

OFHS Soccer Making a Difference On and Off The Field

Oak Forest High School's Soccer program stayed busy this December by volunteering its time as part of its Do Good December.

In late November, holiday gifts for 2,500 children were stolen. Nearly $50,000 worth of toys, shoes, coats, clothes, heathers, school supplies and other Christmas gifts were stolen from a trailer in Englewood. Joe Trost with Buddy's Helpers sent out a call to help to over 22,000 coaches in Illinois with the goal of collecting 10,000 toys by Dec. 10. OFHS Soccer answered the call and contributed to the toy drive. Diego Damian '23, Michael Speaker '23, Brandan Stacy '24, Erin Speaker '22, Alani Villa '22, and Jenna Cooper '22 represented the OFHS Soccer program when they appeared on WGN Morning News during a toy drive to support kids in Englewood. Players, coaches and fans of OFHS soccer and other high school sports programs around the state stepped up to donate toys after a truck full of Christmas toys were stolen. Their appearance on WGN can be viewed here:
