Oak Forest HS Swim Coach Resigns after Allegations of Inappropriate Conduct with Student
The coach is currently under investigation.

A swim coach at Oak Forest High School resigned his role amidst allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student, district officials said Monday.
No charges have been filed against Mark Gonzales. He resigned his position on Friday. Oak Forest police are conducting an investigation of allegations made against him.
Parents of swim team members were notified via phone blast Friday.

“The District just recently became aware of these allegations and has conducted an internal investigation into the allegations in addition to cooperating with both the Oak Forest Police Department and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services,” said Superintendent Bill Kendall in a release.
“We will continue to work with these agencies as they continue in their investigations into these allegations. The accused employee has resigned his position with the District and his access to campus was restricted immediately upon these allegations being made. The well-being and safety of our students is of paramount concern to the District and we will continue to work diligently to ensure that our schools provide a safe environment conducive to learning.”
