Oak Forest Mayor and Alderman Endorse Truth for 228

District 228 Board of Education candidates endorsed by Kuspa and Simon for the April 4th Consolidated General Election

Dear Editor,

There are many contested races in the upcoming April 4 election. One that we feel strongly about is the election for Board of Education Members for High School District 228 where 9 candidates are seeking 3 seats.
We fully understand the importance of good schools and we know that good, experienced school board members are a precious commodity. That is why we are endorsing the Truth for 228 ticket--Della York, Deborah Stearns and Evelyn Gleason! This ticket includes two incumbent board members, Evelyn Gleason and Deborah Stearns, who have served for many years. These are not career politicians, these are dedicated volunteers who have demonstrated their ability to serve our schools and our children. The third member of the ticket is a newcomer to the board, but a woman who has dedicated many volunteer hours to the district schools.

The Truth for 228 team has a record of accomplishment including reducing the deficit by 75%, expanding career education opportunities, improving transparency by recording board meetings, committee meetings, and putting iPads in the hands of every student. Their fiscal responsibility earned the district a Quality School Construction Bond which will result in visible updates on each campus while LOWERING your property taxes.

On April 4 please join me in supporting Della York, Deborah Stearns and Evelyn Gleason for High School District 228. Our children and our city need experienced and committed board members!

Mayor Hank Kuspa
Alderman Rich Simon
