Oak Forest Shoe Drive, Sponsored by the Forest Ridge PTA

The Forest Ridge PTA of Oak Forest is in the midst of hosting a gigantic shoe drive! Our goal is 2,500 pairs of shoes, and we’re already over halfway there! We’re asking the entire community for help in reaching this goal!

Almost everyone has a few pairs of old shoes gathering dust in the backs of their closets. In this Thanksgiving season, donating those shoes is a wonderful act of sharing and kindness. The shoes we collect will be sent to impoverished countries around the world, helping those less fortunate than us. It’s a small act of kindness that can make a real difference in someone else’s life.

This shoe drive accepts any type of shoe, from flip flops to boots, any gender and any size. Please do not donate shoes with holes.

There are donation boxes for our shoe drive at Acorn Library, the Oak Forest Park District, and the Oak Forest City Hall, as well as each of the school offices in District 142.

Please help us in reaching our goal! We will be collecting shoes through the end of November.
