Pedestrian Killed Crossing Bishop Ford In South Holland: Police
The southbound lanes of the roadway remain closed following the early Monday incident, according to police.
SOUTH HOLLAND, IL — A pedestrian was killed early Monday while crossing Interstate 94 (Bishop Ford Freeway) following an early car crash they had been involved in. According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred at around 2:23 a.m. and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The southbound lanes of the roadway remain closed, according to police, and traffic is being diverted off 147th Street.
The deceased has been identified as a 44-year-old female resident of Kokomo, Indiana. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has not released her name pending an autopsy.

The deceased, who had been involved in an earlier crash, was attempting to cross traffic from a disabled vehicle in the middle lane. She was struck by a passing vehicle, that police said remained on scene.
