7 Suspects Caught On Video Breaking Into Cell Phone Store: Cops

Palos Heights police said vehicles suspects arrived in had out-of-state plates.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL β€” A group of men are said to have broken into a cell phone store on Sunday evening but left with nothing. Palos Heights police have released a video of the attempted heist. The attempted burglary is not believed to be related to the turbulence related to George Floyd's death.

Around 10:45 p.m. May 31, police responded to an activated security alarm at the T-Mobile store, 7150 W. 127th St. When officers arrived, they found shattered glass from the front entry door. After reviewing security video, it appeared that three vehicles with out-of-state plates pulled up in front of the store.

The occupants of the cars jumped out and smashed the glass entry door, police said. Security video captured three men wearing face masks poking around what appeared to be an office. More of their alleged masked accomplices joined them until there were seven people crowding the small room. The last man to enter was not wearing a face covering. The suspects briefly look around, and leave as quickly as they came. Police said they did not take any of the merchandise.
