Tevin Coleman Held To 16 Rushing Yards In Falcons' Win Over Bears
The Oak Forest High School alum did catch a pass for 20 yards in Atlanta's win at Soldier Field on Sunday.
CHICAGO, IL -- Oak Forest High School alum Tevin Coleman was mostly contained in his return to Chicago as an NFL player. The Tinley Park native and Indiana University product was held to less than 20 yards as his team, the Atlanta Falcons, triumphed over the host Chicago Bears, 23-17 in both team's season opener on Sunday at Soldier Field.
Coleman rushed eight times and gained 16 yards in the win. His longest run was for seven yards. While the Bears' defense did well in containing him on the ground, Coleman fared better as receiver, catching four passes from Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan for 42 yards. His longest reception went for a 20-yard gain.
Coleman is in his third year with the Falcons (1-0), who are coming off a berth in the Super Bowl, the first NFL championship game to go into overtime in more than 50 years.

Coleman's touchdown in the Super Bowl ended up giving the Falcons a 28-3 lead over the New England Patriots, who followed with 31 consecutive points and their fifth Super Bowl championship in 16 years.
