Two Bremen HS Athletic Teams Awarded IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award

Varsity Girls' Tennis and Varsity Girl's Volleyball Teams maintained over a 3.0 GPA

Bremen High School is proud to announce that two varsity athletic teams were awarded the 2016 Illinois High School Association Team Academic Achievement Award! Both the Varsity Girls’ Volleyball and Varsity Girls’ Tennis teams had team grade point averages over 3.0. Head Varsity Volleyball Coach Jessica Rucinski said, “We are an academic institution first, we have made it a team goal every year to earn this recognition.” Coach Rucinski has been leading the Girls’ Volleyball program for eight years and has earned this recognition every year. “I’m proud of the girls; they are extremely dedicated student-athletes and are great leaders at Bremen High School,” said Rucinski. Bremen High School Principal Dave Kibelkis was proud to point out that both head coaches that led their teams to earn the prestigious awards are Bremen High School Alumni! Coach Rucinski and Head Tennis Coach Vickie Strand.

The Varsity Girls’ Tennis Team members are: Margaret Bigelbach, Maria Cardenas, Joana Cruz, Emily Jurgovan, Ana Lagunas,Ambar Lopez, Athena Michel, Itzel Murillo, Erica Pinto, Rosemary Schroeder, Jordon Simmons, and Margarita Tiscareno. The Varsity Tennis Team is coached by Ms. Vickie Strand and Mr. Joe Kintz.

The Varsity Girls’ Volleyball Team members are: Kitara Dee, Jessica Harris, Alicia Kolacki, Arielle Lewis, Deborah Martinez, Precious Quintero, Gisselle Sanchez, Paige Shaw, Sarah Smith, Rachel Smith, Jessica Stewart, Timya Siemplinski, and Drea Webster. The Varisty Volleyball Team is coached by Ms. Jessica Rucinski and Mr. Matt Meany.
