Woman’s Generosity Supports Families in Need
Forty-seven local families recently received a donation of Easter dinners

Forty-seven local families recently received a donation of a ten-pound ham along with rolls, fresh potatoes, baby carrots, corn, jello, brownies, pineapples, and Easter baskets at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oak Forest thanks to the tireless work from Alsip resident Marilyn Fisher. Marilyn spearheads an annual Easter Dinner extravaganza for local families in need. Marilyn said, “I do this because I can. My mission in life is to help people have their dignity and feel that they are not alone.”
Marilyn’s grandchildren recalled the positive effect of helping their grandmother. Worth resident Jacob Delgadill (17) said, “We like helping people.” Oak Lawn resident Kaya Fisher (11) said, “This helps other people and it helps us too.”
Marilyn Fisher is well known in the community as she has spearheaded yearly Easter dinners, Christmas dinners, and a school supply drive for over seven years. Marilyn also manages Redeemers Little Free Panty, a pantry located on the property of Redeemer Church in Oak Forest that helps residents experiencing food shortages.
