5 Years in Prison for Pebbles the Cancer Scammer
Pebbles Miller bilked an 80-year-old man out of his life savings, telling him she needed his money to pay for cancer treatment.

A south suburban woman who befriended an 80-year-old man at a South Side gas station in 2012 and then bilked him out of $95,000 by claiming to have cancer is now headed to prison.
After meeting Pebbles Miller, 28, of Justice, the man drained his savings account over the course of a year, handing over hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars at a time, saying she needed to pay for her cancer treatment, according to Chicago Police.

Not satisfied with taking his life savings, Miller then went after Catholic Charities, but the agency called police, according to the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.
