Acorn To Oak Successfully Concludes Under $300 Art Sale
Local Artists and Art Enthusiasts Unite for a Grand Opening Celebration in Oak Lawn
Acorn to Oak Studios, Oak Lawn’s independent creative hub, recently hosted a grand opening celebration featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an art sale showcasing works priced under $300. The event took place from November 1 to November 3 at 9411 W. 51st Ave., located behind Pilgrim Faith Church.
This event provided a fantastic opportunity for local artists to display their work and for art enthusiasts to purchase original pieces for their homes and businesses. Artists from various mediums, including painting, photography, sketches, pen and ink, pottery, and sculpture, participated, with no fees for exhibitors. A portion of the proceeds supported arts programming in Oak Lawn for all ages. It is important to note that the event focused solely on original art and was not a craft or vendor fair.
Among the talented artists featured were Dorothy Bury Shaw, who shared her insights during a discussion about her work, “An Artist’s Journey.” Other participating artists showcased a diverse range of styles and techniques, contributing to a rich tapestry of creativity.
