Adorable Babies Celebrate Independence Day At Advocate Children's

Babies in Advocate Children's NICU break out their best red, white and blue outfits for the Fourth of July.

OAK LAWN, IL – Adorable babies in the in the neonatal intensive care units at Advocate Children’s Hospital sported their best red, white and blue outfits to celebrate their first Independence Day. Nurses and child life specialists helped parents dress up their little ones and decorate their surroundings with American flags and other festive decorations to celebrate the Fourth of July. A photo shoot was held Monday to capture the Independence Day memories.

The babies are at the hospital’s two main campuses in northwest suburban Park Ridge and southwest suburban Oak Lawn near Chicago. Each campus features a Level III NICU, which provides the highest level of care for the tiniest newborns.

“At Advocate Children’s Hospital, we care for both medically complex infants who weigh less than a pound, and are known as micro-preemies, and larger full-term babies,” says Dr. Brett Galley, a neonatologist at Advocate Children’s Hospital. “This patriotic celebration brings joy and a sense of normalcy to the parents during an otherwise stressful time.”
