Advocate Christ Welcomes First Baby of 2024

OAK LAWN, IL — A Crete couple welcomed the first baby born in 2024 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Baby Rue Rhodes was born at 5:50 a,m, Jan. 1, clocking in at 4 pounds, 9 ounces, and 17 inches long. Proud parents are mom, Kiara, and dad, Robert. She is the kid sister of Robert and Kityi.

The first Chicago-area birth of 2024 was recorded at 12:25 a.m. at Endeavor Health Hospital Evanston. The boy won’t be named until after the Jewish circumcision ceremony, the Chicago Tribune reported. The son of Basya and Ezra Moskowitz, the baby has two older brothers, and three sisters.

Also in the Advocate health care system, Emily and Wes Ortman, of Wheeling, welcomed their first child, Ocean, who was born at 3:18 a.m. on New Year’s Day at Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge.
