BRIDGEVIEW, IL—The Village of Bridgeview issued a boil order Monday after the village’s water system was shut down so repairs could be made to a broken water main.
The public works department has submitted a water sample for bacteriological testing and is waiting for confirmation that the water is safe for drinking.
The boil advisory will remain in effect for the next 24 to 48 hours until bacteriological testing is completed. Customers affected by the advisory should boil water from the tap for at least five minutes before using it for cooking, drinking, food preparation, washing dishes or brushing teeth.
Should certified lab results require additional testing, residents will be notified of a boil advisory extension. Any questions or concerns, call Village of Bridgeview customer service at 708-594-2525 (option 3) or email info@villageofbridgeview.com.
