JEWEL-OSCO Offers Pharmacy Services to Express Scripts Clients

JEWEL-OSCO, a leading Midwest food and pharmacy retailer, announced the company is enhancing its pharmacy services to welcome Oak Lawn patients with Express Scripts prescription coverage that will no longer be accepted by Walgreens beginning Jan. 1, 2012.

“Many Express Scripts patients may be concerned that they will not have a pharmacy to fill their prescriptions at the start of the new year,” said Tom Rousonelos, JEWEL-OSCO vice president of pharmacy operations. “We want these patients to know that we welcome the opportunity to serve them and that, with 173 pharmacies, JEWEL-OSCO has the resources to meet their needs.”

The retailer urges Express Scripts customers to transfer their prescriptions to their nearby JEWEL-OSCO Pharmacy as soon as possible, before they actually need them. Doing so will give the pharmacies time to add new information to their files, adjust their inventory and ultimately provide patients with an easy and smooth transition. JEWEL-OSCO is in the process of hiring additional associates, to serve the needs of its new pharmacy customers.
