Oak Lawn Teen Wins Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship

CHICAGO -- An Oak Lawn teen has won a prestigious Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship. Tom Loch will start his sixth summer as a caddy at Ridge Country Club.

Loch attends Marist High School where he is a member of the academic and cross country tems, along with serving as a student ambassador. Loch will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the fall where he plans to major in business.

Marist High School has 180 Chick Evans Scholars in its school history. The Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation provides full tuition and college house for golf caddies. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, all applicants must have a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character. Applicants are evaluated and compete on the above criteria for the limited number of awards given annually.
