Astros going for $50K as teacher turns 50

Polar Plunge for Special Olympics coming March 14!

Shepard High School teacher and varsity wrestling head coach Scott Richardson will celebrate his 50th birthday on March 14.

He will celebrate in a beautiful way: Raising money at the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Illinois. Richardson has participated in the Polar Plunge every year that Shepard has sent a team to the event.

If the Astros raises $11,000, that will push the all-time total (since 2017) by Shepard students and staff members to $50,000. And that would make for a great birthday gift.

Right now Shepard boasts 59 plungers (including Dean of Students Nick Bax, POWER PE staff & students) and just over $6,000. You can help them go for $50K here:
