Back To School: Oak Lawn 2021-2022 School Calendars

OAK LAWN, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Oak Lawn, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Oak Lawn-Hometown Dist. 123 and Ridgeland School Dist. 122.

For Oak Lawn Community High School Dist. 229, freshman will be welcomed back Aug. 17, and the entire student body on Aug. 18. At CHSD 218 Richards High School, freshmen return on Aug. 13 and Aug. 16, and the entire student body will be welcomed back Aug. 17.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Oak Lawn schools.

Masking policies are still being discussed in Orland school districts. The Illinois Federation of Teachers and Cook County Department of Public Health announced Wednesday its endorsement of guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Illinois Department of Public Health calling for universal masking in schools, regardless of vaccination status.
