Back To School: Richards High School 2022-2023 School Calendar

OAK LAWN, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Richards High School for the 2022-2023 academic school year, with calendars available to help students and parents prepare for a smooth transition into the new school year.

The first day of school for Richards freshmen is Aug. 12. All grade 9-12 students report on Aug. 15.
Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the CHSD 218 calendar for late starts, early dismissals, exams, conferences, open houses, athletic and school events.

From 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11, Richards is hosting a back-to-school bash for the Class of 2026.

Here is the list of dates to know for Richards High School this school year:

Aug. 10-11 – Faculty Institute Days
Aug. 12 – First day of school begins, freshman only.
Aug. 15 – First day of school begins for all students, grades 9-12.
Sept. 5 – Labor Day, no school.
Oct. 6 – Parent/teacher conferences, noon student dismissal
Oct. 10 – Columbus Day, no school

Oct. 27 – Institute Day, no school
Nov. 8 – Election Day, no school
Nov. 23-Nov. 25 – Thanksgiving Break
Dec. 22 - Last day of student attendance
Dec. 23 through Jan. 6 – Winter Break
Jan. 9 – School resumes
Jan. 16 – Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, no school
Feb. 17 – No school.
Feb. 20 – President’s Day, no school

March 27 through March 31 – Spring break
April 3 – School resumes
April 4 – Institute Day/Election Day, no school
May 19 – Seniors’ last day of attendance
May 23-25 – Grades 9-11 final exams
May 25 – Graduation
May 26 – Last day of school
