Back To School: Ridgeland Dist. 122 School Calendar 2023-24

OAK LAWN, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Ridgeland Dist. 122 with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2023-2024 school year.

The first day of school for Dist. 122 students will be a half-day from 8:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for grades K-5; and 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. for middle school students, grades 6-8.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 122 calendar and your child’s school calendar (Harnew, Kolb, Columbus Manor, Lieb and Simmons Middle School) for conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Aug. 7 - Registration begins
Aug. 18 -The first day of school will be a half-day from 8:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for grades K-5; and 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. for middle school students, grades 6-8.
Aug. 22 - First day of preschool.

Sept. 1 - Teacher Institute Day, no school
Sept. 4 - Labor Day, no school
Sept. 15 - Student half-day

Oct. 9 - Columbus Day, no school
Oct. 20 - Parent-Teacher Conferences, no school
Oct. 31 - Half Day

Nov. 10 - Veterans Day, no school
Nov. 16 and Nov. 17 - Preschool parent-teacher conferences, preschool off
Nov. 20 to Nov. 24 - Thanksgiving break

Dec. 21 to Jan. 5 - Winter break

Jan. 8 - School resumes
Jan. 15 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school

Feb. 12 - Half day, K-8
Feb. 16 - Preschool non-attendance
Feb. 19 - Presidents Day, no school

March 19 - Election day, no school
March 25 to April 1 - Spring Breaj

April 2 - School resumes
April 10 - Eid al-fitr, off

May 27 - Memorial Day, off

June 5 - Last day of school K-8, half day
