Be True To Your School: OLCHS 2021 Homecoming Parade

Video and photo highlights of the Oak Lawn Community High School 2021 Homecoming Parade.

OAK LAWN, IL — Hundreds of residents lined Austin Avenue to watch the return of a tried-and-true tradition — canceled last year by you-know-what — the Oak Lawn Community High School 2021 Homecoming Parade. And, boy, were we glad to see it back.

The Oak Lawn Spartan Marching Band put on a great show when they stepped off Wednesday evening from 88th Street and Austin Avenue, leading the school teams, clubs and extracurricular activities. The parade was made even more spectacular by the many new vehicles lent to the high school by Oak Lawn’s car dealerships.

Marching in the parade (from memory): Spartan Marching Band; JV and varsity football teams; girls and boys golf teams; girls volleyball; cross-country; bass-fishing team; cheer and dance teams; Muslim Student Association; Art Club (rowdies); Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Meme Club; frosh, sophomore junior and senior advisory councils; and the cast from the fall musical, “Little Shop of Horrors,” that will hit the boards Oct. 28 to Oct. 30.
