My name is Lorraine Swanson and I have been the editor of Oak Lawn Patch since 2010. I live in the community. One of my favorite places is the Wolf Wildlife Refuge trail, where I’ve taken many nature walks with my dogs. I dig the St. Catherine’s and St. Gerald’s parish carnivals, St. Nick's Greek Fest, the shrimp tacos at DeJa Brew, and I’m looking forward to the opening of the Barrel Club. I’ve been known to pull all-nighters working on stories at Huck Finn’s. And I love Fall On the Green.

Most importantly, I try to keep residents updated and the community engaged in what's going on. Patch is launching a membership program in Oak Lawn to support local reporting in our community, while at the same time offering a real value to community organizers and influencers.
