Marist Junior Boys Basketball Guard L.J. McIntosh Shows Senior Poise
L.J. McIntosh scored 20 points for Marist in a 63-51 victory over Rich South on Monday in the RedHawk tourney. He was Mr. Automatic at the free throw line.

Marist's L.J. McIntosh is a 6-foot junior guard for coach Gene Nolan's red-hot RedHawks. He popped in 20 points in a 63-51 victory over Rich South on Monday night in the RedHawk Christmas Tournament.
McIntosh was impressive in all phases of the game. On top of his 20 points, he had five rebounds, four steals and one assist. This was through massive amounts of defensive pressure from Rich South. McIntosh was able to work around double-teams, get steals and score on the fast break. He still gave credit to his teammates.
"Well, I was getting open from my teammates because that's how our offense is set up," he said. "That way it's not a one-man doing one thing. Without them, I wouldn't be able to score."

McIntosh was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
"Nothing goes through my head when I'm on the line because we work on it so much in practice," McIntosh said. "We do dribbling and shooting days. It just comes naturally to us as a team."

McIntosh is a resident of suburban Riverdale. He is undecided about where he would like to go to college, but said he has recieved a few interest letters. For now, he'll continue to live in the present.
And that means helping Marist (7-1) build on its strong start. The RedHawks face St. Viator on Friday night.
