BPA students from Richards medal at regional contest

The following Business Professionals of America students from Richards High School won medals at the recent Area Conference competition.

As a result of placing at conference they advance to the state finals, which will be hosted virtually next month. Business education teacher Derek Johnson serves as faculty sponsor of BPA at Shepard.

First place - Personal Financial Management, Valerie Magana; Fundamental Word Processing, Janeen Buirat; Advanced Word Processing, Meghan McSweeney; Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, Adam Shaibat; Extemporaneous Speech, Myah Bawadi; Financial Math and Analysis, Adam Shaibat.

Second place - Fundamental Accounting, Amairani Perez; Payroll Accounting, Nikola Folta; Banking & Finance, Ashley Charles; Intermediate Word Processing, Adam Shaibat; Advanced Office Systems & Procedures, Meghan McSweeney; Java Programming, Canon Maranda; Extemporaneous Speech, Emily Hennigan.

Third place - Banking & Finance, Janeen Buirat.

Fourth place - Financial Math and Analysis, Canon Maranda.
