Buick Encore Grabbed In Hometown Co-op Carjacking
The two suspects threw the woman to the ground and wrestled away her car keys, Hometown police said.
HOMETOWN, IL — Two men threw a woman to ground and grabbed her car Wednesday night in the Hometown co-ops, according to a police advisory. Hometown police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects and to check their home security video systems to see if their cameras captured any unfamiliar cars or people.
Around 8:15 p.m., the men approached a woman in the 4400 block of West 88th Street in the Hometown co-ops. Police said the two threw the woman to the ground and wrestled the car keys away from him. The men entered and fled the area in woman’s gray 2015 Buick Encore with the Illinois plate BF15927, heading north on Cicero Avenue into Chicago.
The suspects were wearing clown masks that they purportedly stole from the Walgreens store at 87th Street and Cicero Avenue. The apparently ditched the masks before stealing the woman’s car, police said. The masks were recovered and taken as evidence.

The suspects are described as male blacks in their twenties. No weapons were displayed.
Police continue to work the case and did not identify any additional public safety threats. Extra patrols have been placed in the co-ops. Chief Lou Dominguez Jr., of the Hometown Police Department, told Patch his detectives are working on several promising leads.
